In Progress

Put them all in a line-up... not sure if I want to present them that way or separately.

Idea for Final Project

For this final project I want to manipulate and compose a series of 'selfies' based off of my own Instagram photos. I plan on digitally altering them, printing them out and painting on them, then scanning them back in to digitally manipulate them again. This will continue until I am satisfied with the image. I want to have three to five total images, each being in square format like Instagram.

When I take selfies I don't just snap a shot. I see it as a piece of art and a way to get creative. I find the right moment, and will compose a shot to take of myself. (adding light if needed or cropping the photo a certain way). So by taking these and manipulating them further with digital alterations and paint, I am making them into a more respectable art-form to the viewer.

Project 4 Concept and Photos

For this sequential narrative project I want to focus on ordinary moments. Most people tend to look past these moments in time because they are part of everyday life. However, I always find them quite interesting so I want to capture that in a series of 3 to 5 images. Right now I'm looking at a day when I have nothing to do other than sit around on my couch watching TV or accidentally falling asleep. These moments seem to not be important or interesting but they are part of our lives that we shouldn't ignore.

In Progress

I moved the figure around as well as adding another. I also got rid of the building in the background  to create a more natural feel to the image.

Work in Progress

I am using the sun as a divine light. I am planning on having another figure of some sort, most likely an animal on the bottom right corner.

Cyclical Nature of Things Statement

My plan for this project is to study the constant growth and change in nature. Everyday someone or something grows and learns something new.  I want to focus on Pythagorean philosophy, where the human soul continues on to a different life form when their mortal selves die, continuing to learn life's lesson and grow. Once they have learned everything they can rejoin the divine. I will use these photos to help capture the feel of growth, change, and learning.
